Everything you need to know about Plektrify
GEO & AEO Basics
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the practice of optimizing your website and content to appear in AI-generated responses. When users ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Google AI Overviews a question, GEO helps ensure your content is discovered, understood, and cited by these AI systems. Unlike traditional SEO which focuses on ranking in search results, GEO focuses on being the source that AI references in its answers.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is about optimizing your website to be the authoritative source for answers in AI-powered search engines. It focuses on entity clarity (making sure AI knows exactly what your business is), structured data (Schema.org markup), and content that directly answers user questions. AEO ensures that when an AI needs to answer a question about your industry, it pulls information from your website.
SEO optimizes for traditional search engine rankings (Google, Bing blue links). GEO optimizes for AI-generated content and responses (ChatGPT, Perplexity). AEO specifically focuses on being cited as an answer source in conversational AI. While SEO cares about keywords and backlinks, GEO/AEO care more about entity clarity, structured data, and authoritative content that AI can confidently cite.
To appear in ChatGPT and other AI answers: 1) Add clear structured data (Schema.org) so AI understands your entity, 2) Create authoritative, factual content that directly answers questions, 3) Include FAQ sections with clear Q&A format, 4) Ensure your organization information is consistent across the web, 5) Build topical authority in your niche. Plektrify automates the structured data part, which is foundational for AI discovery.
AI search engines crawl the web similar to traditional search engines, but they prioritize content that is well-structured, authoritative, and easy to extract facts from. They look for Schema.org markup to understand entities, FAQ schemas for Q&A content, clear organization information, and content that provides direct, citable answers. Structured data acts as a "map" that helps AI navigate and understand your content.
Structured data (JSON-LD/Schema.org) is like giving AI a clear instruction manual about your website. It explicitly tells AI: "This is our company name, this is what we do, these are our products, these are frequently asked questions." Without structured data, AI has to guess and infer this information, which is less reliable. With proper schemas, you increase the chances of being correctly understood and cited.
No, GEO/AEO complements SEO rather than replacing it. Traditional search engines still drive significant traffic, and many GEO/AEO best practices (like structured data and quality content) also benefit SEO. Think of it as expanding your optimization strategy: SEO for search rankings, GEO/AEO for AI citations. The good news is that structured data helps both.
Unlike SEO which can take months, some GEO/AEO improvements can have faster effects since AI systems regularly re-crawl and update their knowledge. However, building topical authority still takes time. Adding structured data through Plektrify provides immediate technical foundation, while the full benefits accumulate as AI systems process your improved data over weeks to months.
Getting Started
Plektrify is a GEO/AEO (Generative Engine Optimization / Answer Engine Optimization) tool that injects structured data (JSON-LD schemas) and meta tags into your website. You define your business facts once in our dashboard, and our script automatically injects the right data on every page.
Installation is simple: just add one script tag to your website's HTML. Copy the snippet from your project dashboard and paste it into your site's <head> tag. That's it - no build changes, no plugins, no dependencies.
Yes! Plektrify works with any website or framework - static HTML, WordPress, React, Vue, Next.js, Nuxt, Gatsby, Svelte, Angular, and more. It also handles SPA (Single Page Application) navigation automatically.
No. Our dashboard is designed to be user-friendly. You fill in your business information using simple forms, and we handle all the technical details of generating valid structured data.
Billing & Usage
A request is a configuration fetch made by the Plektrify script when a page loads or changes route in your SPA. The script uses intelligent caching (ETag/304) to minimize requests, so actual usage is typically much lower than your total page views. Both successful responses (200) and cache hits (304) count as requests.
Your site continues to work normally - we never break your website due to usage limits. You'll see an "Over limit" warning in your dashboard. The script may reduce refresh frequency, but your last published configuration will always be served. No surprise overage charges in MVP.
Usage resets on the first day of each calendar month. You can see your current usage and reset date in the Billing section of your dashboard.
Yes! Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You won't lose access to features until the billing period ends.
Yes! Every new account gets a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan with full features. No credit card required. After the trial, you'll be on the Free plan unless you choose to upgrade.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe. Enterprise customers can request invoice billing.
Features & Functionality
We support Organization, LocalBusiness, WebSite, WebPage, Article, FAQPage, Product, and Service schemas. The available types depend on your plan - Free includes basic schemas, while Pro includes all types.
Yes! Our Rules system lets you configure different schemas and meta tags for different URL patterns. You can use exact matches (/pricing) or prefix matches (/blog/*) to target specific pages.
Facts are your global business information (organization name, logo, contact details, social links) that stays consistent across your site. Rules define what schemas and meta tags to inject on specific pages or URL patterns.
Changes you make in the dashboard are saved as drafts. When you're ready, you publish to make them live. Each publish creates a new version, and your previous versions are kept in history.
Yes! The Publish page includes a preview feature where you can enter any URL path and see exactly what schemas and meta tags will be injected.
Technical
Minimal impact. Our script loads asynchronously and doesn't block page rendering. Configuration is cached aggressively, and we use ETag headers for efficient cache revalidation.
Our script automatically detects route changes in Single Page Applications by intercepting history.pushState/replaceState and listening to popstate events. Schemas and meta tags are updated on each navigation.
If our service is temporarily unavailable, the script fails silently without affecting your site. Your pages will simply not have the injected schemas until service is restored. We maintain high availability infrastructure to minimize downtime.
Yes. Modern search engine crawlers execute JavaScript, so they see the injected JSON-LD and meta tags just like regular users. The schemas are injected into the DOM with proper structure for optimal discovery.
Yes, but be careful of duplicates. If your site already has Organization or WebSite schemas, you may want to remove them to avoid conflicts. Plektrify marks its injections with data-plektrify attributes so you can identify them.
Security & Privacy
Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your business facts are stored securely, and we follow industry best practices for data protection.
We only collect the business information you provide (organization details, schemas configuration) and basic analytics (request counts). We don't track your website visitors or collect personal data from them.
Key rotation is available on the Pro plan. You can generate new public keys from the Settings page. Old keys continue to work briefly to allow for deployment, then are automatically revoked.
